Why we built our own music bot
Before MAU-MUSIC, most Discord music bots our team tried were either low quality, unstable or aggressively monetised. Some worked one week and disappeared the next, many were paywalled, flooded chats with ads or lagged during playback right when people wanted to relax.
As everyday users of Discord voice chats, we wanted a stable, fast and user-first Discord music bot that we could rely on in our own guilds. So we built MAU-MUSIC for ourselves first: clean interface, predictable behaviour, no noisy spam, and performance that feels invisible when it just works.
Today that same internal tool powers hundreds of communities and is continuously improved based on real-world usage and feedback from people who listen with it every day.
